Munds Landscaping is a New Jersey landscape design-build company that combines strict adherence to high quality standards, practical experience, education and respect for the client into each and every project.
Company founder Dickson Munds began gaining knowledge of the land by working on a neighbor’s Hunterdon County farm at age of 16. Paid no money but given the capacity of a truck, a business began to form. A love of the land and a love of mechanical drawing and drafting led him to pursue a degree in landscape architecture. While studying at Rutgers University and taking both theoretical and practical courses, he sought out new clients and maintained his company and the basic services it provided. Upon graduation in 1995 with a Bachelors in Science degree in Landscape Architecture, Munds’ projects increased in scope to patios and full landscape design.
Word about Munds’ innovative designs and impeccable workmanship quickly spread and the firm grew accordingly. By the year 2000, Munds Landscaping began adding poolscapes to their list of services, and began working closely with large national firms like Anthony Sylvan and National Pools.
Wanting to increase customer communication, Munds installed their own six-acre plant nursery to enhance the process of shrub, tree, ornamental grass, plant, and flower selection. Munds shares the nursery with the general public as well, providing high quality plants chosen with care. Additionally, Munds utilizes computer automated drawing (CAD) and full-color plant pictures in the design process to most effectively communicate with clients.
Finally, to increase efficiency in meeting project deadlines, Munds expanded and formed an excavation and waste hauling division in 2005. Today, Munds is a firm with over 40 employees all sharing the same commitment to innovative landscape design, impeccable workmanship and respect for the client.
